LISDATA unveils pioneering European project for AI smart glasses in industrial settings

The Spanish firm LISDATA, a technology company specializing in artificial intelligence development, will present at Advanced Factories 2026 (Barcelona) a pioneering European project focused on the use of smart glasses for industrial settings. This new line of work will allow operators and technical staff to access specific information in real time directly from the display, hands-free and without relying on a computer or mobile phone, during maintenance, inspection, diagnostic, and warehouse tasks. All of this thanks to AI.

The software connects the smart glasses to aisQ AGENT, a corporate AI agent that can be used to consult internal manuals, access diagrams or images, and view them with zoom. Beyond accessing information, the system also allows data to be entered by voice directly from the glasses, making it easier to record information in real time without interrupting operations or occupying the hands.

This functionality opens the door to specific use cases in maintenance, such as drawing up a report for a preventive maintenance task; in production, with the logging of hours (machines used, parts manufactured, or inspections carried out); and on the shop floor, with requests to the warehouse for the materials needed to keep production running smoothly.

The goal is to bring both access to knowledge and the recording of information into the operational environment itself, in a more agile, natural, and secure way. Instead of forcing the professional to stop their task to check or note down information on another device, the system brings that interaction directly to the display and allows it to be handled by voice, keeping the hands free throughout the operation.

From a technical standpoint, the project—co-financed by the European Union and the Basque Government through the Hazitek EMIE project—relies on multimodal models capable of processing text, image, and voice, together with a multimodal RAG architecture that connects the glasses with technical documentation, internal knowledge, and corporate data sources. This integration layer allows the system to be linked with the company’s databases and transactional platforms, such as ERP, CMMS, MES, or other operational databases, enabling both contextual information lookup and interaction with data tied to industrial activity. In addition, the development incorporates compressed models, designed to work smoothly in resource-constrained environments, a common condition on the shop floor, during field visits, or in contexts where connectivity is not always stable.

This initiative aligns with LISDATA’s track record in developing artificial intelligence applied to business and industrial contexts, as well as with the evolution of aisQ AGENT, the company’s AI agent platform. Designed to facilitate access to internal knowledge and support specific tasks within organizations, this technology makes it possible to work within more secure corporate environments tailored to each company’s actual needs.

The presentation at Advanced Factories will mark a new step in Spanish tech companies’ commitment to artificial intelligence that is useful, responsible, and connected to the real needs of different industries. The LISDATA team will showcase a demo of this technology at stand D445 in Hall 2 of Fira de Barcelona – Gran Vía Venue, where attendees will be able to try the glasses live on May 5, 6, and 7.
