LISDATA takes part in the INNOTWIN project for the development of digital twins
LISDATA takes part in the INNOTWIN project, co-financed by Spain’s Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The consortium of companies involved in developing the initiative is completed by Idea, Regenera, and InprOTech, who will receive support from three additional research entities: the Instituto Tecnológico de Informática at the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Centro Tecnológico de Telecomunicaciones de Galicia, and the R&D&I Group in Hydraulic, Maritime and Environmental Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena.
INNOTWIN, an initiative supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, is based on industrial research across different technological areas (data spaces, 3D digitization, predictive analytics, sustainability, and cybersecurity) for their incorporation into the field of Digital Twins. The research lines proposed by the project will enable the application of innovative technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and the Internet of Things) and their efficient integration into the development of a new data space concept to enable Digital Twins, which will also incorporate solutions to increase resource efficiency across the entire value chain.
As a result, this new concept of Digital Twins supported by Data Spaces will make it possible to virtualize all the systems of a production plant in real time, from the start of manufacturing through to waste recovery, with the aim of measuring, assessing, and improving performance by taking into account past, present, and future operating conditions.
Research into new technologies
In addition, the INNOTWIN concept will result from research into new technologies for incorporation into data spaces, such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data, delivering numerous benefits at both the production and operational levels, leading to cost reductions across every industrial stage, from production to commercialization.
Promoting strategies for building data spaces will help companies providing solutions in the field of Digital Twins in the industrial sector overcome the inherent barriers of this type of technology: the lack of availability of quality data for building predictive models, access to experimentation environments, and the replication of solutions, including the use of third-party services.
