LISDATA: Innovation in Artificial Intelligence for Naval Industry 4.0

The naval industry represents a strategic sector for industrial strengthening and the generation of skilled employment in Spain, serving as a fundamental pillar for international trade and the national economy. Faced with the challenges of digitalization and sustainability, LISDATA actively participates in the INNCODIS project (File No. PNA-020100-2023-19), part of the flagship project DTNAVAL (File No. PNA-010000-2023-1).

Strategic Collaboration and Technological Evolution

As part of this project, the LISDATA team has worked closely with Astilleros Murueta, demonstrating that artificial intelligence and advanced analytics are true drivers of efficiency and continuous improvement in highly specialized naval environments.

The INNCODIS project starts from an initial technology readiness level of TRL 5, where technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT, and Quantum Computing have been tested as isolated components. The goal of our participation is to carry out the research and development needed to integrate these solutions into a coordinated ecosystem, reaching TRL 6 through validation in simulated environments and the use of demonstrators prior to their implementation in the shipyard’s real environment.

Lines of Action

LISDATA leads the following lines of work:

  • Development of a system for monitoring work progress and material counting.
  • Development of an advanced welding process and optimization and control of the welding process using artificial intelligence based on quantum computing.
  • Development of advanced technology for predictive maintenance on the shop floor. CMMS.
  • Development of advanced technology to monitor the proper use of PPE by employees.

In addition, our organization is fully involved in defining requirements and in the final validation of technologies and processes.
