LIS develops the EMIE project
LISDATA is part of the EMIE project, led by Multiverse Computing, which is researching the creation of more efficient multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) using quantum-inspired technologies.
EMIE addresses three key challenges:
- Reducing the energy consumption required to run multimodal LLM and AI models
- Reducing the size of these models
- Researching their deployment in real-world environments, assessing requirements, consumption, and response quality
Within EMIE, LIS leads the research and development of multimodal models, integrating quantum and quantum-inspired computing techniques to reduce the energy consumption and size of these AI systems while maintaining their accuracy and effectiveness.
Practical applications will be validated in three strategic sectors: energy (Iberdrola), manufacturing (Gestamp), and biotechnology (VIVEBiotech), demonstrating the transformative potential of these technologies to boost the competitiveness of the Basque business fabric.
The project, with a duration of 33 months, represents a significant step forward towards more sustainable, efficient, and accessible AI for businesses.
- LIS DATA SOLUTIONS S.L. has received a grant from the Basque Government to carry out R&D&I projects. These projects fall under the competitive projects line of the programme of support to the Basque Government’s Hazitek business R&D, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund 2021–2027 (ERDF).
